The Magic Of Testimony
Anna Thomson | August 14, 2011One day, when I was reading the Book of Revelation in my office, I suddenly felt something very tangible. Every time when I feel like the word of God is jumping out of the Bible, then I know I’m listening to what God is trying to say to me at that moment. I thought, wow, this is so powerful. I didn’t know its meaning, but it is powerful. As usual, my spirit felt it before my mind.
‘And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me. See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.’ Book of Revelation 19:10. I was reading this verse and was blown away by the powerful revelation the last sentence gave. It is enormous. It is infinite. Not even Apostle John entered into the fullness of this.
Often when I feel that the Lord wants to tell me something with I verse, I spend time meditate on it and wait upon the Lord. I did this with Revelation 19:10. It told me a few hours to get the answer. And the Holy Spirit showed me the meaning of the word with a brother of my church, Jim. He had a crisis with his marriage, but He prayed to God and God supernaturally healed their relationship. He shared with me the testimony in my office. He ended with a permission to share the story I heard to anyone, whom I believe they need to hear.
What Jim said to me helped me join all the dots. Testifying an prophesying are two critical element of a normal Christian life. But only at that moment did I truly understand how I could prophesy to people with Jim’s testimony.
Prophecy is a word that reveal the future or a word that induced changes to the current situation. Prophecies have catalytic power. It can change the atmosphere and prepare the way and room for God’s supernatural interference.
Jim implied two points, which are indeed true. First, if God would do such a great thing for him, God would also do the same for others because God is not a respecter of men. Secondly, by sharing the testimony, we can pass on the promise of God to other persons so that they will also experience the power.
