Adaptive evolution is the reason that 95% of all weight lose programs fail. Think back to the Theory of Evolution taught in High School.

“Theory of Evolution? What does that have to do with weight loss?”

As it turns out, they are FUNDAMENTALLY connected. Over millions of years, human beings have evolved to endure long periods of both famine and abundance. Our evolutionary history has made us creatures of opportunity, getting our food whenever and wherever we could find it, so the human metabolism also evolved to help us survive these cyclical periods.

“That sounds very interesting, but what does that have to do with my diet tanking after a few weeks?”

Well, limiting or changing caloric intake is the keystone for most diets. After a while, the average metabolism will interpret this as a famine or natural disaster, so the metabolism automatically slows down in order to keep the body alive longer. This is why most diets will stop working after a few weeks, and why we sometimes feel sluggish on diets. It’s just nature’s way of trying to keep us alive.

“So how do we undo evolution?”

Glad you asked. We do something called “calorie shifting”. Studies show that it consistently promotes sustained weight loss.

“What is calorie shifting?”

It’s a simple concept. You spend a week to 10 days lowering your caloric intake below your baseline level. Studies have shown that your metabolism will begin to interpret this as a famine and start to slow down after 11 days.

To stop the metabolism from slowing down, you then spend the next week to 10 days raising your caloric intake ABOVE your baseline. This makes the metabolism react as if the famine were over, so it speeds up again.

After it speeds up, you then return your caloric level back BELOW your baseline. You see? That way, you constantly “trick” your metabolism into never slowing down, and you prevent the sluggishness.

Of course, there’s more to it than that since you have to follow other guidelines. You have to drink up to 10 glasses of water a day, for example, and you need the right kind of calories stretched over 4 meals a day. That will be the subject of future articles.

Every few thousand miles, I stop back in at my favorite garage for the usual oil change and brake check. This place is as reliable as the sun after the rain, filled with forthright, self-respecting mechanics who always give sensible advice and never overcharge. These are guys who have readily worn the trademark of their honest living, faint traces of grease, under their nails seven days a week. That is until recent developments.

In the past six months when I have dropped around for the usual check up, I’ve noticed a trend in the shop. These mechanics are increasingly referring to themselves as “technicians” and living into the idea that scrubbed stains on hands is quite pass.

As I waited in line recently at this shop’s bistro-styled waiting room watching customers picking at their complimentary croissants, my favorite technician pushes through the swinging door that separates us from the work-area with its screaming pneumatic wrenches. I am caught off guard by something new in his appearance and realize that it is the pair of badass black nitrile gloves he is wearing. As he reviews my work order with me, I can’t stop staring at those tightly clad hands. He looks as though he is about to commit a crime instead of adjusting my brakes.

The desire to better one’s after-hours appearance with some simple protective gloves makes sense. It must be impossible to believe the night should belong to Michelob when every time you sip your drink, your grease-stained fingers are telling you who the day belongs to. Plus wearing gloves in the garage is not an altogether new idea. And the sexy black look has the added benefit of catching some appreciative female glances.

The trade hand cleansers that mechanics have used for decades can be very harsh on the skin. There is only so much exfoliating a pair of Vaselined-and-pumiced hands can take. Add that to a lack of humidity in the winter and you can have some real raw paws to deal with. Disposable nitrile gloves, particularly the black silky skin-fitting ones can be an answer to prayer.

I give my work estimate the OK and my mechanic (oops, “technician”) disappears back into the dark dominion of those screaming pneumatic wrenches. An hour later, my car is curbside waiting for me. As I get in, I can see the shop’s customary gift for their lady clients has been placed the seat next to me: A long stemmed red rose, laid there no doubt by a bad-boy black-gloved hand.

No one intends to get hurt, and everyone expects to get old. But with the growing number of elderly people, and with the relevance of long term care changing constantly, it is very important to know what might be in your future. How prepared are you? And what do you need to know before the worst case scenario happens?

It’s a terrible thing to one day be a self sufficient adult and the next find yourself relying on the kindnesses and help of others to do very simple things. Long term care is about just that, helping people who are no longer able to help themselves in some of the smallest ways possible. It includes a variety of services for those who are disabled and those who are elderly, and these services can be of a medical nature or not. Dressing, bathing and using the bathroom are things many people take for granted.

Many people try not to think about the worst case scenario or what will happen to them when they get old. However, these people also wrongly think that the government will take care of them and cover all of their costs. Even in the most progressive European countries, this simply isn’t the case, and care for the elderly or permanently disabled falls on volunteers or if someone is fortunate, relatives willing to take the time to help.

In the United States, Medicaid eligibility is dependent on a person’s resources and income. Medicare does not cover custodial or unskilled care provided by family or friends. Many Nordic countries now have programs in place to provide some sort of financial compensation to those who tend to the elderly or disabled, even if they are relatives. Some of these programs even include pensions. However, North American countries don’t have this luxury just yet.

Twelve million Americans require long term care. Five million of these people are of an adult age that is typically a part of the workforce. It’s not something people typically plan for, though they have no challenge insuring their homes, their cars, their lives. It isn’t hard to prepare for the future and ensure that should long term care become important, it’s available.

One of the first things to know is that the sooner a person begins to provide for future long term care insurance, the better. In their fifties, most people are still fit enough to pass a medical if one is necessary. Premium costs are also lower and this is pretty important, as a typical stay in a long term facility is $150 a day. Another thing to know is that once you are locked in on a plan, should your health change, your premiums won’t. A third thing to bear in mind when planning future long term care is that there is typically an elimination period. For the first sixty or ninety days of care, the policy will not be there. It doesn’t kick in until after this period. Be prepared financially to bear that burden until the policy comes into play.

The population of the elderly is growing substantially. But with this growth comes a larger amount of information available to help people prepare for the worst case scenario. No one wants to get sick or become so aged that they can’t take care of simple daily tasks themselves. However, it is a possibility, and one that can be planned for appropriately if you know what to expect if it happens to you.

Before you go out and buy a policy go to Long Term Care Insurance, ask questions and request a long term care insurance quote. We represent 20 of the top LTCi providers. This gives you tremendous options.

How do I get ripped? How do I lose body fat? How do I lose this extra weight? These are questions that I’m asked regularly once people find out that I’m a personal trainer. Since I’m not one to feed you b.s., I have to tell you it isn’t easy. It requires adopting a new lifestyle, and that means discipline and commitment. If you are willing to do that, use the plan I’ve laid out below and you’ll get some serious results.

1. Focus on Maximizing Muscle Recruitment. What exactly is muscle recruitment? Pretty much exactly what is sounds like. It refers to the amount of muscle you recruit or use during an exercise. This should be a key point when creating a fat loss workout plan. Why… because using more muscle spends more energy, which cooks more calories, which results in greater fat loss. So how do you get there? It’s all about your exercise selection.

Here’s something you’ve probably seen at the gym: A guy with way too much belly spending an hour isolating his biceps and triceps. Bad choice my friend. Since biceps and triceps are small muscle groups, working them individually doesn’t recruit much muscle. Let me show you a better option. Rows (cable, dumbbell, or barbell) trigger the large muscles of the back and the biceps at the same time. Tricep pushups or dips trigger the chest and shoulders as well as the triceps. Some other good picks for arsenal are bench presses, squats, and deadlifts. Of course there are many more exercises out there that also fit the bill.

2. Circuit training is your best option. About 18 years ago I trained my first client. Over that time I’ve seen a lot of techniques emerge in the fitness industry. That being said, I still firmly believe that circuit training is the ideal option for losing fat. If you do it right, results can come pretty quickly. Here’s what to do: Put together a sequence of 4-6 exercises. Move from one to another with no more than 15 seconds of rest in between each one. You should notice your heart rate increasing, which will boost the amount of calories and fat you burn over time. Complete the circuit as many times as you can in one hour. If you are not able to maintain that long, work for at least 20 minutes and increase every workout by a few minutes until you can train for an hour.

3. Use a journal to keep the results coming. Listen up because this is really important! If you don’t keep pushing your body to the next level, your results won’t go to the next level. The human body has an amazing ability to adapt – that means what was once a challenge will no longer be a challenge after a little while. If your workout stops being tough, you will stop losing fat. So keep a journal (during your workout), and track the following (per exercise), weight or intensity, amount of repititions, and total amount of sets. By increasing at least one of these each time you train a muscle group, you will make sure positive results continue.

5 Vary the exercises and methods (stability ball, free weights, calisthenics, plyometrics, etc) you use. You might have also heard this called muscle confusion. It puts a constantly changing demand on your body, which keeps your body from adapting and prevents plateau.

So here’s the wrap up – If you want to get ripped you have to lose fat and excess weight. Put all of this together with a quality eating plan and your results will skyrocket. Perform 10 – 30 minutes of power cardio (jump rope, brisk incline walk, or swimming) on the days you don’t strength train. Get in 2-3 per week. Happy Training!!

Here is an example of a what a good fat loss workout should look like.

A hairstyle is an important part of your look. Before you get hair extensions, you should look at several factors. Many people, sadly, are very unhappy with how their hair looks.

A hairstyle is an important part of your look. Before you get hair extensions, you should look at several factors. Many people, sadly, are very unhappy with how their hair looks.

While not every hair issue can be addressed easily, if your problem is that you cut your hair too short or you feel that you lack the desired amount of volume, then getting hair extensions can be a great solution for you. Using hair extensions can give anyone the ability to have almost any hairstyle that they desire, quickly and easily.

What Type of Hair Extension

However, some things must be considered. Firstly, it is important to decide what type of material you want to use. Depending on what look you are trying to achieve and on your budget, you need to decide whether you wish to use synthetic materials or natural human hair.

When you decide to wear hair extensions, you need to take better care of them than of your own hair. Keeping your hair extensions clean is extremely important. This is because there are a few key differences between your natural hair and the extensions. Because hair extensions don’t grow, they do not produce their own oil, so using a good leave-in conditioner is important.

Take Good Care of Your Hair Extensions

Good washing of your extensions is also important and should be done every day and after any sort of strenuous physical activity. To wash your hair extensions, you should make sure that you are using a high quality shampoo and using a downward motion to wash them.

Regardless of what type of hair extensions you use or what purpose you use them for, it is important to choose the right type and take proper care of them. Like anything else, if your hair extensions are not taken care of properly, they can lose their intended effect.

But, by taking good care of them, they can continue to provide the look that you are aiming for for a very long time. I recently found a helpful guide at a site called Hair Extensions DIY. You can check them out there.

Long-term Hair Extension?

Another thing that you have to decide is what sort of attachment you are looking for. For someone who wants to have a longer-lasting set of hair extensions, use an invisible weave that bonds the extensions to the natural hair and can last up to eight weeks.

Or, if you are just wanting to change your hair for an evening, you’ll want to use clip-in extensions, that can easily be applied and removed in a short time.

Want to find out more about DIY Hair Extensions, check it out here. Also, you can visit Tiffany L. Shay’s site on how to choose the best type of hair extensions for your needs.

I’ve been learning and practicing yoga for the past several years. Yoga has become a passion and a joy in my life and I hope to help others in their journey to discover the wonderful benefits of meditation and yoga. When you’re starting out with Yoga, it can be tough to find the motivation to keep doing it. Here’s a few tips to make your first experiences with yoga enjoyable.

If you’ve recently started doing yoga or have tried it a couple of times but dont have the motivation to keep going, these tips might help you to get that feel-good feeling that you need to want to come back again and again. Yoga is such a wonderful practice and I assure you that if you stick with it and do it at least once a week, within a month you’ll feel more flexible, more happy, and your mind will be clearer than you ever thought possible. Once you get over the hump, you’ll start to feel the “yoga glow”, which is the feeling of a clear mind and a flexible body that will shine.

Straps help your to get started A Yoga Strap really helps you stretch further by providing extra reach where a beginner would normally not have any. Get a strap and it will quickly help you stretch to those toes! Before long you wont need it anymore.

Take deep and frequent breaths It’s critical to focus on your breathing because this is what helps you get deep into your stretches and realize vast improvements. Every time you breathe in, pull back a little bit. Then, as you breath out, push yourself deeper into the stretch. Repeat this for all your poses and stretches.

Meditate and clear your mind At the end of your practice, spend plenty of time just relaxing and letting your mind go. Doing this provides the largest reward. If you do this with a clear mind for at least 15-20 minutes, you’ll feel more clear minded than ever and will be excited for your next yoga practice

Use a thick yoga mat Thick yoga mats provide the cushion you need to get started…it’s also helpful to get a skidless yoga mat as well so that you’re not slipping off the mat.

I hope this finds you well and inspires you to get going with a regular yoga routine. Your mind and your body will thank you!

If you’re looking for some help picking out yoga accessories, I would suggest a thick yoga mat and yoga mat bag.

Chicken is a great source of protein. It is considered to be one of the healthiest meats and poultry; however, if you really care about your health, make sure you choose organic chickens.

Eating non-organic chicken on a regular basis is not the safest choice, because many farmers commonly use arsenic, best known as a deadly poison, in conventional chicken feed. Multiple studies show that prolonged exposure to arsenic may cause type 2 diabetes, heart and liver diseases and even certain forms of cancer.

Another study has shown that if pregnant women expose themselves to arsenic, their children may have higher chances of getting cancer later in life.

According to the research done by the government, arsenic levels in some young chickens are up to four times greater than in other meats.

Arsenic is a very dangerous poison, which can also be deadly. Even though the chicken industry claims that the amounts of arsenic used in the organic chickens feed is safe, many experts are convinced that no amount of arsenic is safe.

No arsenic is used in organic chicken feed. Organic chickens are fed all natural grains, which were grown on chemical and pesticide free farms. Organic chicken is also not given antibiotics, vaccines or growth hormones. They get daily access to sunshine and fresh air and they have lots of room to move. If you think that sunshine and fresh air only benefits the chickens, you are wrong.

Organic chickens which are free-range are much healthier than conventionally raised ones, because they get daily exposure to sunshine and fresh air. They have plenty of room to move around and to run, which makes their muscles well exercised and not wasted. They have high amounts of beneficial fats, which help lower cholesterol levels. They are also rich in Vitamin A and Omega-3 Fatty Acids.

If you can’t afford to buy organic chicken on a regular basis, check local farmers markets. They often offer organic or free-range chicken for cheaper than supermarkets or specialized organic food stores.

Even if you don’t care about your health and don’t mind getting exposed to arsenic, give organic chickens a try anyway. If you experience their rich taste, you may never want to buy any other chicken again.

If you think organic living is simply a passing phase and don’t believe in the possible dangers of genetically modified foods, check this site on howorganic benefitsyour well-being and your life.

Wearing fantastic looking eyewear from top designers assists in making a great impression.

Wearing fantastic looking eyewear from top designers assists in making a great impression.

When meeting someone for the very first time, the thing that attracts their attention the most is your eyes.

So, it can be easily concluded that nothing has a greater effect on the first impression you give to others than your eyewear.

So, it is suggested that you deliver a great first impression by wearing eyewear that is stylish and matches your personality perfectly, like those available from Armani, Dior and even Chanel.

There are frames available to match just about every style of face and fashion preference, so you have the opportunity to let your personality come to the fore front with a great pair of designer glasses.

Whether you prefer bookish frames, wrap around lenses or even a metallic look, the elements you desire in designer eyewear is available to you.

You can choose to go retro, mod or just basic modern style, with so many choices you can create the stunning first impression you desire with just a simple change of your eyewear.

With all the variety of fashion eyewear for men and women, take a few moments to search the amazing selections that are offered.

Personally speaking, I always buy authentic designer eyewear.

Because designer accessories are a bit pricey, there are shops that sell faux and replica eyewear.

If you want to avoid buying a pair of fake frames, I suggest you visit your local department store and view the authentic models.

Once you know what you want, the best places to find deals are at Amazon or eBay.

You can find the latest offerings available for sale at very good prices.

You can also find net shops that have deals that are almost always better than those found at your neighborhood shopping mall. When it is time for you to buy, I suggest that you take a few minutes and do a look up on the net first.

Searching on the net allows you the opportunity to easily compare prices, so you can be sure that you are getting the best possible deal for your money.

One of the best parts of web shopping is that you will be able to locate those rare or hard to find models of designer eyewear that you can’t seem to find anywhere else.

Find the latest style information for Miu Miu Eyewear at our webpage.

There is a lot of talk about the HCG diet right now. Many people are raving about the results they have had from being on the plan. Yet many others consider it to be controversial. To get more information, you should go speak with a HCG diet expert. For now, here are the basics.

The HCG comes from a key factor in the diet plan, Human Chorio Gonadotropin. A human hormone, it is highest in the bodies of pregnant women. However, it is also present in both men and women who are not pregnant. One use of HCG is as an aid in fertility treatments. Injections of the hormone have been found to help raise the sperm count in men as well as to help women with ovulation problems.

The way the HCG diet works is through a two-pronged approach. The first is to lower your calorie intake daily to 500 calories. This, by itself, will result in losing weight. But the body is sure to experience negative side effects such as hunger pains, nausea and headaches. The second prong of the approach, daily HCG injections, is meant to keep these side effects from happening.

Why this works is that, in addition to the effect on fertility, the HCG hormone also triggers the hypothalamus to release fat. The fat that is released is then used by your body to replace the calories it is missing from your diet so that it can function properly. This, however, is somewhat controversial, as there are some studies that do not show a difference in people receiving the shot as compared to those who had not.

However, it is difficult to ignore the number of people who have claimed weight losses of 20 pounds and higher. While there still needs to be more testing to say that the diet is definitely safe for long-term, the opposite is true as well. No studies have yet proven that it is not safe. There is no question that research will continue as the diet gains in popularity.

Many of the HCG diet plans that are now being offered are not the same as the original plan that started the controversies. The current HCG diet is modified according to the personal needs of the individual so that, for example, not everyone is put on just 500 calories. This brings a much more balanced approach to the diet that will undoubtedly help reduce any need for concern about side effects.

Of course, as with any diet plan, you may want to talk to your doctor before starting it. And to get the most current information, it will be best to talk to a professional in the HCG diet office. This way, you can make your own informed choice over whether this diet is a good choice for you personally.

Do you know about hcg houston? When you want to learn the facts about how youn lose weight and feel great, listen to someone who knows all about hcg diet houston.
