Information Regarding Infertility Stress

Adrian Logan | January 26, 2010

Infertility is one of the most stressful situations that any couple must deal with. Even treatments for it can contribute to the stress that the couple goes through. In addition, the irony is that couples that realize that they themselves are stressed can further worsen their infertility thanks to this realization!

What are the various reasons behind infertility stress?

Firstly, it can start from being initially diagnosed as being infertile. After having sex for many months or up to a year, the woman can’t get pregnant. The couple became frustrated and seek the advice of a fertility specialist. One or both could very well end up feeling depressed and inadequate when the specialist diagnoses either partner or both in some cases as being infertile,

Secondly, the couple may has decided to undergo infertility treatments. Such treatments can prove exceedingly and prohibitively expensive depending on the treatments required. Undergoing this treatment itself can add to their stress.

And the process itself – having to go in and out of doctors’ waiting rooms and hospitals, among other places, waiting with bated breath for results, and so on and so forth – can also contribute to stress immensely.

Thirdly, even the act of lovemaking itself may contribute to the stress. Many couples may not be able to get past the fact that they are unable to bear children through “the usual way”, through making love, and this can make things very hard for them because if they are unable to consummate the sexual act, they may have to make recourse to more medical procedures.

Also having sex might become unenjoyable and a chore for the couple as they would have to be doing it according to a schedule with the pressure of producing children. It is no longer about enjoying each other and having a pleasure time.

Having to go through fertility treatments can be very demeaning for men. They may feel emasculated and feel that they are responsible if they are unable to produce babies with their wives. It is also extremely embarrassing for them to talk about issue like low sperm count or erectile problems with the doctor or producing sperm in the doctor office.

It is extremely important to consider how the couple responds to such stress in the first place. Some can simply take it in stride and be positive even in the face of potential failure; others can be negative right at the outset even if the future for them might not be so bleak, and immediately contemplate having to adopt children while agonizing over how unfair things seem to be, and so on and so forth. This can result in a drastic lowering of self-esteem for couples and individuals.

As a consequence, infertility can result in many couples being placed under extreme strain. Many couples buckle under this strain, and many of them end up breaking up. Others, though, end up learning from this experience and end up stronger couples even if they are proven completely infertile.

Acupuncture Chinese Medical Technique

Elie Goldschmidt | January 24, 2010

Acupuncture provides several fertility benefits and can be helpful for people who are suffering from fertility complications or infertility. Acupuncture is one among the Chinese medical techniques for curing the infertility problems. This treatment involves sticking of thin needles into different points present in the body.

When these needles are stimulated, pathways are opened that may affect the way the body operates. Practitioners may treat a variety of fertility conditions or diseases, or use the treatment in conjunction with herbs or western medical treatments. The American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM) trains and certifies individuals to perform this therapy to treat infertility.

While the training for this certification involves a familiarity with acupuncture and herbal medicine treatments, about half of the exam required to become certified also requires an understanding of western medicine. Patients who would like to know more about the training and certification for practitioners of acupuncture for fertility treatment should speak to a trained professional directly or consult the ABORM for more information.

Acupuncture may be an effective treatment for patients suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, low sperm count, poor egg quality and low ovarian reserve. Patients with an increased maternal age, those with sperm DNA fragmentation and who experience recurrent miscarriages may also be candidates for this treatment. Those suffering from immunological causes of infertility, implantation failures, patients undergoing in vitro fertilization or other assisted reproductive technology treatments and those with unexplained infertility problems may also be candidates for acupuncture.

The acupuncture is developed on the basis of an assumption that the life energy of the body, which is called as Qi will flow through your body, thereby by protecting from several diseases, pain and illness. This assumption also states that lack of exercise, poor diet, trauma and stress can interrupt the energy in your body, which can result in infertility. The needles that are placed on different points of your body will help to release energy. Most of the practitioners assume that releasing the positive energy can push out the negative energy from your body.

The patient should lie still during the administration of this treatment and stimulation of needles. The average duration of a session ranges between 20 and 30 minutes. When used along with the other reputed fertility treatments, acupuncture will help the women in relieving stress and enhancing the flow of blood into uterus.

This therapy may also reduce the side effects of fertility drugs and may help to strengthen the immune system.

If you are interested in getting more information regarding this technique, consulting a practitioner is the best thing to do.

Five Tips To Get Pregnant Fast

Brock Davis | January 24, 2010

Are you asking how to get pregnant fast? Many couples are seeking an answer to that question. It is possible to get pregnant fast. Here are some tips that will improve your success rate. Before that, if you have any existing medical condition, do consult your doctors first.

Tip 1: Improve your health before trying to conceive. Many of the infertility reasons are due to an unhealthy life style. Start to do some moderate exercise, eat healthy, avoid chemicals and lose some weight. All these can help you to get conceive.

Stop any consumption of alcohol and nicotine. It will have a positive impact on your effort in trying to conceive a healthy child. Also do relax and be happy everyday in order to have a healthy pregnancy. If you are stressed and depressed, it is hard to become pregnant.

Tip 2: It is not good to have sex all the time during the cycle. It will only make both of you tired and sex will become a chore. It is important to understand that it is not the amount of sex that will make you pregant. Rather it is having sex at the right time. For younger women, it is usually during taht 1 or 2 days in a month that they will become pregnant.

For older women, their ovulation may come less often and less regular. It can even be as rare as once in 6 months. That is the reason why older women find themselves harder to get pregnant but it is still possible.

Tip 3. According to a new research study of University of North Carolina the best predictor of the time to have sex that will lead to a pregnancy: is sex that occurs when fertile cervical mucus is present. Fertile cervical mucus helps sperm to swim easier and faster it also makes the penetration of the egg easier because of the special environment the fertile cervical mucus produces around the egg.

But the fertile cervical mucus will be there only for a short period of time. It is easy to miss that exact time as it is only 1 to 2 days only. To detect fertile cervical mucus, you can do self-examination and measure your basal body temperature. One big problem with ovulation prediction kits is they are not very helpful in predicting fertile mucus. Therefore if you are using this kind of kit, you can miss out easily.

Tip 4. An adequate amounts of sperm is required when you have sex during ovulation. Because of this consideration, avid having any sexual activities a few days before ovulation begins. The amount of sperm delivered will be lower if the couple has sex before it. You may think that the volume of sperm is the same but the quality of the sperm will drop if you have sex daily. Avoiding sex for a few days can help you built up a good amount of sperm.

Tip 5: Based on a few studies, it is concluded that you can get pregnant easier if you enjoy the sex and have an orgasm during it. During orgasm, the woman genital muscles relaxes. This makes it easier for the fertilized egg to imbed into the uterus lining and continue to grow. Thus women should not be stressed and treat sex as a chore.

In conclusion, these five tips are proven to help couples get pregnant faster. Give it a try and very soon your wife will be pregnant.

If you are struggling to get pregnant, then you need to discover about a holistic and ancient chinese system for getting pregnant and having healthy children. Reverse both female and male infertility issues and improve the quality of your life dramatically!

Natural Ways to Increase Female Fertility

Tammy Richardson | January 23, 2010

Having trouble getting pregnant? If fertility is an issue for you then there are many simple steps to take which can help you to conceive and because our lifestyles can impact heavily on our reproductive success -whether for men or for women, this is the first place to start if you are looking for natural ways to increase fertility.

Alcohol is a hazard for pregnancy. There have been studies that have shown a correlation between miscarriage and alcohol consumption in early pregnancy, especially the first weeks of the first trimester.

Nutrition is an important factor in fertility treatment. Giving your body the proper levels of nourishment will mean that it has all it needs to function properly, and is of course the most simple and natural ways to increase fertility naturally! The reserve of nutrients that is vital for complete functioning of the reproductive hormone system is lowered with bad eating habit and poor diet.

Nutrient levels and diet as well as your digestive function all play a part in determining your hormonal balance and fertility. A hormonal imbalance and/or blockage of hormones can be caused by deficiencies in various essential fatty acids as well as antioxidants and vitamins and minerals, so if you are low in zinc and magnesium, vitamins A or B6 then your chances of conception may be lessened.

Have you ever considered trying traditional medicine and acupuncture to aid your fertility treatment? Medical acupuncture treatment can be most helpful for those who have unexplained infertility as acupuncture works on balancing the body’s energies and creating a receptive atmosphere and a body primed for conception. If there is a physical impediment to conception in either partners, such as low sperm count or damage in the fallopian tubes then as a supplement to medical treatment couples can use acupuncture as well.

When correctly administered acupuncture can help deal with many of the complex imbalances that often underlay a reduced ability to fall pregnant – in both men and women.

Fertility and stress are not good bedfellows. If a women is under a lot of stress the body will overproduce prolactin which is a reproductive hormone and will interfere with proper ovulation. Simultaneously the hypothalamus ceases secretion of the essential hormone gonadotrophin which will also mean that the luteinizing hormone and the follicle-stimulating hormones are both not released. These hormones are all essential for stimulating ovulation cycles, so of course fertility is the first casualty of stress.

If you want to take steps to lower your stress levels, then partaking in regular exercise, using hypnotherapy or visualization and practicing deep breathing techniques can help – a multifaceted approach might include the following:

Using holistic therapies often work so well as natural ways to increase fertility simply because conception and fertility are actually not just affected by the reproductive system, but by the health of the body as a whole. The key to helping your fertility may simple be awareness of lifestyle factors, or taking health supplements, or even learning to relax with the help of acupuncture or massage.

Conceiving if you are a woman who smokes very often takes longer and comes with an increased risk of miscarriage as well as lower levels of progesterone and oestrogen. Smoking in men can result in a reduction in the levels of testosterone in the body as well as sperm problems like reduced mobility, abnormalities and reduced density. These risks increase proportionally to the amount of cigarettes a man or woman consumes.

As a natural and healthy way to increase fertility, hypnotherapy can be extremely helpful.

Hypnotherapists have had most success with patients with unexplained infertility by helping to relieve them of hidden tensions by using relaxation and breathing techniques. Fertility issues can arise from holding stress or having emotional blockages which can be let go with the help of hypnotherapy. Emotional issues that are not dealt with can interfere with conception and hypnotherapy can be a great way to identify and resolve these issues.

As well as basic stress reduction, you can help to deal with deep seated fears and other issues which can pave the way for hormonal re-balancing. This is usually when there is too much prolactin in the system inhibiting ovulation.

Hypnotherapy can also be used in the birthing process and can teach women to be calm and relaxed while birthing. Hypnotherapy can help make the birth more calm and comfortable for women by teaching them relaxation and breathing techniques to utilise in the birthing process.

Know the Best Time to Conceive

Tammy Richardson | January 23, 2010

It is very often the case that when a couple is told they have unexplained infertility they really should be told that they need to learn some more about conception, and not listen to everything the doctors say. To be blunt, this is because doctors on the whole of way too quick to give the ‘infertile’ label after just a year of trying – discovering when is the best time to get pregnant is the key and this can be done with a little understanding of your own cervical fluid.

Doctors will tend to highlight the importance of measuring the body basal temperature and overlook entirely the importance of cervical fluid. If couples are serious about timing when is the best time to get pregnant then they cannot afford to ignore cervical fluid. For many couples out there doctors are regrettably still advising that sexual relations be timed around changes in temperature. There are doctors who go half the way and tell couples that the temperature measures will only give them an indication of fertility once the fertile time has actually passed, but they will still prescribe that keeping a record for a number of months and then establishing a predictive timing for fertility will do the trick (bad advice, and a waste of precious time). Couples are being misinformed by both prescribed methods!

If couples us the basal temperature method to determine when is the best time to get pregnant, they may actually be doing themselves a disservice, as often by the time an increase in temperature is recorded, the egg has died.

This is not to say that recording basal body temperature doesn’t play a part, but doctors are being misleading when they say it is an indicator of fertility. There are many useful things to be gleaned from recording basal body temperature, such as your ovulation cycle length (important for knowing if an egg can be successfully implanted in the uterus) or if you are ovulating properly or not – even for determining if a conception has taken place. Be this as it may, basal temperature is not a good determinant of optimum fertility periods. Cervical fluid can provide the most accurate indications of fertile times so this is what one should be checking! Women are most fertile during the ‘eggwhite’ cervical fluid days, especially the last day, or if you don’t notice an eggwhite appearance, then the wettest type of fluid is your indicator.

For greater chances of conceiving noting changes in cervical fluid and be the key. Before starting to chart the changes in cervical mucus, you need to know what it is you are looking for. During any cycle cervical fluids can differ immensely in terms of volume, consistency and its colour. Couples can find the best time for conception if the woman understands and tracks these changes.

There is usually not a lot of cervical mucus present upon cessation of the menstrual period. In most women for the first half a week directly after the period there will be little mucus produced, if any at all. The chances of conceiving depend largely on the presence of cervical mucus, so no mucus, no pregnancy. The next mucus phase is between the ‘dry’ time and ovulation, where the fluid is normally tacky, and cloudy or white in colour. During this phase there is normally also less mucus. A couple of days prior to ovulation the cervical mucus changes to a moist, sticky consistency like a lotion or hand cream. White or creamy is the usual colour for the cervical mucus at this stage.

The best conception time is ovulation. The most cervical mucus is present during the ovulation phase of the menstrual cycle. Cervical mucus at this stage is often referred to as ‘eggwhite cervical mucus’ because during ovulation it takes on the consistency and colour of eggwhites. During this time of ovulation it is the best period to try for a baby.

The changes in cervical mucus can be used as a guide to determine where you are in your cycle. If you note these changes over a couple of months, the times of your ovulation will be very easy to determine, and so will the best times for trying for a baby.
