Information Regarding Infertility Stress

Adrian Logan | January 26, 2010

Infertility is one of the most stressful situations that any couple must deal with. Even treatments for it can contribute to the stress that the couple goes through. In addition, the irony is that couples that realize that they themselves are stressed can further worsen their infertility thanks to this realization!

What are the various reasons behind infertility stress?

Firstly, it can start from being initially diagnosed as being infertile. After having sex for many months or up to a year, the woman can’t get pregnant. The couple became frustrated and seek the advice of a fertility specialist. One or both could very well end up feeling depressed and inadequate when the specialist diagnoses either partner or both in some cases as being infertile,

Secondly, the couple may has decided to undergo infertility treatments. Such treatments can prove exceedingly and prohibitively expensive depending on the treatments required. Undergoing this treatment itself can add to their stress.

And the process itself – having to go in and out of doctors’ waiting rooms and hospitals, among other places, waiting with bated breath for results, and so on and so forth – can also contribute to stress immensely.

Thirdly, even the act of lovemaking itself may contribute to the stress. Many couples may not be able to get past the fact that they are unable to bear children through “the usual way”, through making love, and this can make things very hard for them because if they are unable to consummate the sexual act, they may have to make recourse to more medical procedures.

Also having sex might become unenjoyable and a chore for the couple as they would have to be doing it according to a schedule with the pressure of producing children. It is no longer about enjoying each other and having a pleasure time.

Having to go through fertility treatments can be very demeaning for men. They may feel emasculated and feel that they are responsible if they are unable to produce babies with their wives. It is also extremely embarrassing for them to talk about issue like low sperm count or erectile problems with the doctor or producing sperm in the doctor office.

It is extremely important to consider how the couple responds to such stress in the first place. Some can simply take it in stride and be positive even in the face of potential failure; others can be negative right at the outset even if the future for them might not be so bleak, and immediately contemplate having to adopt children while agonizing over how unfair things seem to be, and so on and so forth. This can result in a drastic lowering of self-esteem for couples and individuals.

As a consequence, infertility can result in many couples being placed under extreme strain. Many couples buckle under this strain, and many of them end up breaking up. Others, though, end up learning from this experience and end up stronger couples even if they are proven completely infertile.

Are you asking how to get pregnant fast? Many couples are seeking an answer to that question. It is possible to get pregnant fast. Here are some tips that will improve your success rate. Before that, if you have any existing medical condition, do consult your doctors first.

Tip 1: Improve your health before trying to conceive. Many of the infertility reasons are due to an unhealthy life style. Start to do some moderate exercise, eat healthy, avoid chemicals and lose some weight. All these can help you to get conceive.

Stop any consumption of alcohol and nicotine. It will have a positive impact on your effort in trying to conceive a healthy child. Also do relax and be happy everyday in order to have a healthy pregnancy. If you are stressed and depressed, it is hard to become pregnant.

Tip 2: It is not good to have sex all the time during the cycle. It will only make both of you tired and sex will become a chore. For younger women, it is usually during taht 1 or 2 days in a month that they will become pregnant.

For older women, their ovulation may come less often and less regular. It can even be as rare as once in 6 months. That is the reason why older women find themselves harder to get pregnant but it is still possible.

Tip 3. According to a new research study of University of North Carolina the best predictor of the time to have sex that will lead to a pregnancy: is sex that occurs when fertile cervical mucus is present. Fertile cervical mucus helps sperm to swim easier and faster it also makes the penetration of the egg easier because of the special environment the fertile cervical mucus produces around the egg.

But the fertile cervical mucus will be there only for a short period of time. It is easy to miss that exact time as it is only 1 to 2 days only. One big problem with ovulation prediction kits is they are not very helpful in predicting fertile mucus. Therefore if you are using this kind of kit, you can miss out easily.

Tip 4. An adequate amounts of sperm is required when you have sex during ovulation. Because of this consideration, avid having any sexual activities a few days before ovulation begins. The amount of sperm delivered will be lower if the couple has sex before it. You may think that the volume of sperm is the same but the quality of the sperm will drop if you have sex daily. Avoiding sex for a few days can help you built up a good amount of sperm.

Tip 5: Based on a few studies, it is concluded that you can get pregnant easier if you enjoy the sex and have an orgasm during it. During orgasm, the woman genital muscles relaxes. This makes it easier for the fertilized egg to imbed into the uterus lining and continue to grow. Thus women should not be stressed and treat sex as a chore.

In Home Senior Care

Jen Parsens | January 15, 2010

The term, home care service, is commonly used to refer to non-medical or custodian care given at the home of the patient. Providers are usually persons who are not licensed medical personnel (not doctors or nurses) and hired directly or through an agency. Family and friends can also be caregivers, especially for seniors living with them.

Seniors comprise the majority of the recipients of home care. Of these, studies show that more women than men need in home senior care. There are other individuals who would typically use this service, such as people with disabilities or special needs and people recovering from major surgeries.

Many seniors prefer to stay in their own homes and are more comfortable and productive in their own environment, instead of going to a nursing home. It allows them to be near their family and friends and keep to their daily routine. In home senior care makes this possible for them through the variety of options they offer in terms of type and frequency of assistance that may be needed.

Home care can include professional health care services or life assistance services or a combination of both. The first one refers to services such as physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychological assessment, medication teaching, pain management, wound care and disease education and management. But more often, home care involves assistance with activities of daily living.

Activities of daily living include those that reflect the patient’s capacity to care for himself, such as eating, walking, bathing, dressing and using the toilet. It also covers daily tasks such as light housework, preparing meals, taking medication, shopping, using the telephone and managing money. For the latter, home care providers are there to educate and advise, with the patient making his own decision on financial matters and signing his own checks and financial or legal documents.

Home care services are generally available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, options include having providers on a shift, part-time, hourly, live-in or an as-needed basis. Providers may also work by themselves or as a team.

In financial terms, in home senior care (with the exception of live-in care) is generally less expensive than room and board or assisted living facilities such as nursing homes. The cost of home care depends on several factors, including location and skill level of service. For instance, caregivers hired through an agency as well as licensed medical personnel will cost more than direct hires and informal help.

Billing can be on an hourly, daily or weekly basis with payment coming from the patient and his or her family members or through a variety of public and privates sources. Professional health care services are usually ordered by a doctor and may be covered with insurance. Some community organizations, such as the local cancer society or Alzheimer’s association, may also provide funding to help pay for home care services.

Jen has done specific studies on this subject in an attempt to help anyone in their search for understanding. When suffering from diabetes, Alzheimer’s or any kind of disease it helps to find outside assistance. Senior home care can help you with your daily living. You can find trustworthy in home senior care in your local phone book, or on the internet.

Preventing Mosquitoes Bites

Owen Jones | December 23, 2009

So, you’ve got some time off work, college or school and you want to get outdoors and enjoy it. Maybe even go on holiday. What a good idea! Nevertheless, what happens when you get where you are going? The mosquitoes come out to get you.

If it were not so routine, it would sound like Freddy Kruger and Nightmare on Elm Street. The female mosquitoes need blood to create eggs and they seek it out as insatiably as any vampire in a horror movie, while the males go sipping nectar from plants like fairies.

Well, that is the nightmare setting, but it is not that far from the truth either. For many peoples in the world it is also a genuine life and death problem. Millions of people die every year from malaria and tons more from dengue too. Yet both of these diseases are curable as are most of the other mosquito-borne diseases like Yellow Fever, Japanese Jungle Encephalopathy and Nile fever.

The first thing to realize is that typically these diseases can be inoculated against, particularly if you are going on holiday. The next thing to keep in mind – it might help – is that not all mosquitoes are the same. For example, in Thailand, the dengue-bearing mosquito (often called the ‘Egyptian’) comes out during the day time and so bites then too. Between about an hour before dawn and an hour after dusk, whereas the malaria-carrying mosquito, the Anopheles, is a night time huntress.

I am not suggesting that you can relax your guard during the day, although many people take for granted that they can. Nobody wants dengue fever either.

So, what can you do? Before you go anywhere, read up on the district or check with medical experts. That part is not complicated, particularly, if you know how to explore the Internet. Then prepare yourself with inoculations if the risk is serious enough in your judgment or a medical expert’s judgment. In my estimation, that is the minimum that a conscientious person ought to be expected to do to protect him or herself, the family and the community at large.

Then there are a few other things you can do. For example, wear voluminous clothes, but long sleeves and long trousers. If you are thin on top by choice or not, wear a hat or cap. Dress in socks or stockings in the evening to safeguard your toes. Get a good-quality mosquito repellent and rub it on your exposed skin, as often as required by the manufacturer, which is typically every four or five hours.

You could reasonably stop there, but I like to go a bit further, if the situation warrants it. If I am outdoors in the garden at home or in a hotel, I like to have one of those tennis racquet style electric bug zappers with me. They are wonderful for zapping the odd mosquito that buzzes you. They are good for clearing the bedroom before retiring too and lastly, if I’m renting, hiking, camping or caravaning, I might find space for a rechargeable lantern-style bug zapper too.

If the little so-and-sos are going to give me a fever, they are going to have to try really hard to do it.
